A fine, micronized grade built for dispersion — not fired ceramics. Used as a functional filler in paints, rubber, plastics, adhesives and construction chemicals, where surface area and consistent particle size matter more than whiteness. Mine-direct from Rajasthan, India, with batch-tested purity on every shipment.
Filler applications judge silica powder on a different set of criteria than ceramics do. A paint, rubber compound or adhesive doesn't get fired — it needs the filler to disperse evenly, control viscosity and texture, and reinforce the cured or dried material without settling out or clumping. 400-500 mesh gives the fine, high-surface-area particle size that dispersion needs, while filler-grade iron tolerance keeps the cost meaningfully below the low-iron 400-500 mesh material sold for glazes and glass, where whiteness is the priority instead.
Aalok Overseas grinds 400-500 mesh Quartz Powder mine-direct from Rajasthan quartz, holding consistent particle size distribution so formulators get predictable dispersion and rheology behavior batch after batch.
Note: 400-500 mesh is also used in glaze and glass applications, but at a lower-iron specification than the filler grade covered on this page — see our main Quartz Powder page for the glaze/glass version of this mesh range.
| PARAMETER | TYPICAL VALUE |

| SiO2 | 97% - 99% |
| Fe2O3 | 0.05% - 0.15% |
| Al2O3 | 0.3% - 0.8% |
| Whiteness (GE) | 78 - 88 (not tightly specified for most filler uses) |
| Mesh Size | 400-500 mesh (BSS/ASTM), 85%+ passing |
| Moisture | Below 0.2% |
| Oil Absorption | Available on request for paint/coating buyers |
Fine extender controlling matte finish, texture and viscosity in interior and exterior paint formulations.
Fine filler contributing to abrasion resistance and mechanical reinforcement in general rubber goods.
Micronized filler used in plastic compounding where fine, consistent dispersion is required for surface finish.
Bulking and rheology-control filler in construction adhesives, caulks and sealant formulations.
Fine filler in epoxy flooring, potting compounds and resin-based coatings needing smooth surface finish.
Base filler in wood putty, wall filler and caulk products where a smooth, sandable finish is required.
Fine carrier and anti-caking agent in powder-based pesticide and fertilizer formulations.
Fine silica component in shell-mold slurry systems for precision metal casting.
Each shipment of 400-500 mesh filler-grade Quartz Powder ships with a batch-specific, XRF-tested Certificate of Analysis covering SiO2, Fe2O3, whiteness and particle size distribution. First-time buyers can request a pre-shipment sample to trial dispersion and finish in their own formulation before committing to a full container order.

Finer particle size gives higher surface area, improving dispersion in paints, rubber, adhesives and resins — better surface finish, viscosity control and reinforcement than coarser 100-200 mesh material suited to ceramic bodies.
Not usually — filler applications bind the material into a colored or opaque matrix, so standard iron levels (0.05-0.15% Fe2O3) keep cost lower than the ultra-low-iron material sold for white ceramics or glass.
Paints and coatings, rubber compounding, PVC and plastics, adhesives and sealants, epoxy and resin flooring, putty and caulk, and agrochemical carrier applications.
An XRF-tested Certificate of Analysis reporting SiO2, Fe2O3, whiteness and particle size distribution on every batch.
Standard orders start at one 20ft FCL, with smaller trial quantities available for first-time buyers.
